Water Projects

The Franks Engineering team has designed several water treatment and distribution system projects. Projects incorporating selective chemical conditioning systems and mixed media filtration systems including backwash air scour are utilized to comply with critical THM and turbidity requirements while meeting recent disinfection contact time regulations. Staff experience specifically related to transmission and distribution system and water tank projects result in cost-effective designs. Funding for water improvement projects has been secured from the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission, Arkansas Department of Economic Development, USDA Rural Development, Texas Community Development Program and the Texas Water Development Board with loan and grant amounts. The firm also assists local governments in developing proposals and literature for local bond issues to provide projects funding.

Prescott, AR

This project included the replacement of the 16” raw water main and pump control valves.

The project was funded through ANRC SRF.

DeQueen, AR

This project included re-coating the interior and exterior of the tank. We installed new, properly sized vents and manways with minor repairs made to the tank components.

The project was funded through AEDC.

Wastewater Projects

The firm is currently working on projects which are being financed by the State Revolving Loan Fund administered by the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) and the United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Development. The firm’s wastewater treatment plant experience includes activated sludge, extended aeration and basic lagoon treatment systems. Sludge dewatering in the forms of lime and thermal treatment as well as filter sludge drying beds has been successfully implemented by the firm.

Lockesburg, AR

The City improved the sewer collection system that included replacing gravity sewer mains, manholes, replaced pumps in the Lift Station. In result of the sewer collection system improvements the City reduced the Inflow and Infiltration within the system.

This project was funded through USDA-RD.

McNeil, AR

The City improved the Wastewater Treatment Plant by replacing the plants in the rock reed filters and installing an aerator in the sewer pond. The City replaced pumps and controls in four Lift Stations.

This project was funded through Arkansas Natural Resources Commission State Revolving Loan Fund.

Sidewalk Projects

The Franks Engineering team has designed several sidewalk improvement projects. Sidewalk project include sidewalk paving, curb and gutter, wheelchair ramps, handrail, retaining walls, drainage improvements, making an ADA accessible route for the citizens of the City. Staff experience specifically related to sidewalk improvement projects result in cost-effective designs and funding. Funding for sidewalk improvement projects has been secured from Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) Transportation Alternatives Programs and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Transportation . The firm also assists with funding applications, and the overall funding and construction process for the sidewalk improvement projects.

Glenwood, AR

The City improved the sidewalks on 1st, Frisco and 3rd street including curb and gutter and sub-surface drainage.

This project was funded through the Arkansas Department of Transportation with the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Sidewalk Grant.

Magnolia, AR

The City improved the sidewalks in the downtown area. The project included sidewalks, wheelchair ramps, and handrail.

Park Projects

The Franks Engineering team has designed several park projects. Projects include installing playground equipment, pavilions with picnic tables, basketball courts, handicap accessible parking, and ADA concrete sidewalks. Funding for park projects have been received through Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, and Texas Parks & Wildlife Small Community Grant Program.

Stamps, AR

The City was awarded the FUN Park Grant through Arkansas Parks and Tourism. The project included new playground equipment with ADA accessibility, pavilion with picnic tables, and a ADA Handicap Parking Area with ADA sidewalk connections.

McNeil, AR

The city was awarded the FUN Park Grant through Arkansas Parks and Tourism. The project included new playground equipment with ADA accessibility, pavilion, baseball backstop, with ADA sidewalk connections to the ADA Parking at the Community Center in McCaskill.
